The GR 16-18 project is a project aimed at young people between the age of 16 and 18 years who are in the last stage of guardianship and living in residential care.
The objective is to improve the resources of tutelated youth of 16-18 years at the time of their forthcoming emancipation, with special emphasis on the abilities related to communication, self-knowledge, emotional awareness, interpersonal relationships, initiative and autonomy.
These are key competences to be able to deal with clarity in the concretion of their emancipation project, since they significantly affect the capacity of decision and action when confronting their own process.
The GR 16-18 develops along 4 lines of action: the mentoring relationship, the group directed activities, the use and learning of participative photography and the individual accompaniment.
The group activities take place on Tuesdays from 5 to 7 p.m. and combine: mentoring actions (in groups of three, two young people and one mentor); learning of photography; actions to find out the cultural resources of the city; activities to encourage participation and the production of the exhibition of their own works with which the project concludes, and where they reflect the concerns, doubts and hopes of their emancipation process.
